 Eurimages Backs 'Occi vs The World'
Irish/ German co-production ‘Occi vs The World’, has secured €280,000 in Eurimages funding. The feature, written and directed by Conor McDermottroe, will star IFTA winning actresses Anne-Marie Duff and Susan Lynch, and Irish actor Aaron Monaghan. more
 Irish Company Havok Wins Emmy Award
Irish interactive software and services provider Havok has picked up a Technology and Engineering Emmy award at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Monday, 7th January. more
 IFI Tribute to Tom Murphy
The Irish Film Institute will pay tribute to the late actor Tom Murphy, whose credits include ‘Man About Dog’ and ‘Adam and Paul’, with a special charity event at the IFI at 6.15pm on Tuesday 15th January, with proceeds going to Irish cancer research. more
Death of Irish Actor Peter Caffrey
The Irish actor Peter Caffrey (Ballykissangel, I Went Down) has died at 58 years of age. The stage, film and television actor passed away after years of ill health following a stroke in 2000.more
'In Bruges' Set for Irish Release in March
Martin McDonagh’s debut feature film ‘In Bruges’, starring Irish actors Colin Farrell (Miami Vice, Intermission) and Brendan Gleeson (Beowulf, The Tiger’s Tail) is set to reach Irish cinemas on Friday 7th March. more
IFB Unveils New Digital Shorts Fund
The Irish Film Board is set to fund up to ten films under new digital short film scheme ‘Virtual Cinema’, with applications accepted until Friday, February 14th. more

John Crowley’s feature ‘Boy A’ , Steph Green’s short ‘New Boy’ and Darren Thornton's short 'Frankie' have joined the line-up for this year’s Berlinale International Film Festival, which takes place from 7th-17th February 2008. more
