Paddy Breathnach’s latest feature film ‘Shrooms’ will receive it’s world premiere screening at the forthcoming Edinburgh International Film Festival (15 – 26 August). The Scottish festival will also host the UK premiere of John Carney’s award winning feature ‘Once’. more

Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, King Kong) has cast young Irish actress Saoirse Ronan alongside Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener) and Ryan Gosling (Half Nelson, The Notebook) in the feature film adaptation of Alice Sebold’s bestseller ‘The Lovely Bones’.  more

World Premiere of Irish Boxing Doco ‘Saviours’
Street Films will host the world premiere of their new documentary ‘Saviours’ at the Galway Film Fleadh this weekend, Sunday July 15th at 4.30pm. The feature length boxing documentary is the debut film for directors Ross Whitaker and Liam Nolan. more

TV3 have commissioned a second series of the popular makeover series ‘Inside and Out’. Produced by Edge Films, the first series aired in early 2007 pulling in an average viewership of 220,000 per episode. more

Cast of NI Production ‘Rapunzel’ Announced
The cast of ‘Rapunzel’, the third of four comedy dramas to be made by Hat Trick Productions in Northern Ireland, has been confirmed. The all-star cast will include Lee Ingelby (George Gently, Life on Mars), Charity Wakefield (Sense and Sensibility, Jane Eyre), Shaun Williamson (Extra’s, EastEnders), and Geraldine James (Little Britain, The Time of Your Life). more
