The 36th Festival and 29th Market of this year’s International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand will take place from the 31st January to the 8th February. It has been described as 'the Cannes of short film.'

The Berlin Film Festival, which takes place between the 6th and 16th of February 2014, has announced that the ‘Last Hijack’ will launch the Panorama Documentary section at this year's festival.

Sideline Productions has confirmed its first UK series commission for ‘Great British Castles’. The six-part documentary series for Channel 5 will be co-produced by Sideline along with GroupM Entertainment.

Chris O’Dowd’s famous Irish sitcom ‘Moone Boy’ returns to our screens on Monday February 17th on Sky 1.‘Moone Boy’s’ long-awaited return will see 11-year-old Martin Moone reacquaint with his imaginary friend Sean to deal with the quandaries of life in a wacky small-town Irish family in the 1980’s.

It was almost a year ago that ‘Vikings’, shot in Co. Wicklow, with approximately four hundred Irish people involved in its production, premiered on the History Channel in the USA. Now the highly anticipated series will see its first Irish screening on RTÉ2 this Sunday at 9.30 p.m.

Lenny Abrahamson’s newest movie has a confirmed release in North America. After premiering at Sundance and receiving rave reviews, Lenny Abrahamson's ‘Frank’ has been picked up by Magnolia Pictures, which will be distributing the film in North America.

This year's Sundance marked the 30th anniversary of the long-revered Utah-based film festival. For Irish cinema, it was also a distinctive festival.

Peter McDonald, Andrew Scott, Amy Huberman and a host of international guest will descend on Dublin this February for the upcoming 2014 Dublin International Film Festival.

The 26th annual Galway Film Fleadh is currently accepting entries for the following categories: feature length film including, but not limited to, documentary, animation, experimental and narrative feature film. Submission deadline is Friday the 28th of March at 5pm.
