PRODUCTION | 'Titanic - Blood and Steel' sails into Dublin, filming in Dublin until December 17th
Titanic
The Irish/Italian mini-series has hit the Dublin streets for a twelve week Irish shoot, with Ciaran Donnelly (The Tudors) at the helm, and support from Robert Quinn (Primeval). The 12x1 hour mini series is to be produced by Paul Myler of EPOS Films in conjunction with Italian DeAngelis Group. more
BROADCAST | RTÉ To Reduce Fees, Even if Talent Flee
Noel Curran
RTÉ may lose some of its top name presenters as a result of pay cuts, but they will be replaced by new talent, director general Noel Curran admitted last night. Speaking at Dublin City University, Mr Curran conceded that the reduction of top presenters' wages by 30% may result in loss of big names, but declared that RTÉ has mistakenly paid top presenters too much in the past. more

The remake of John Boorman's 1981 'Excalibur' has been shelved, Bryan Singer has told SFX. It was previously announced that the 1981 Boorman film, that launched the career of actors including Liam Neeson, Gabriel Byrne, Ciaran Hinds, Helen Mirren and Patrick Stewart, was set for a remake by Warner Brothers with Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects) at the helm. more
