Midler, Cattrall and Lott to Shoot in Ireland
Bette Midler, Kim Cattrall and Pixie Lott will all shortly arrive on Irish soil to shoot Bootstrap Films' latest feature 'Sweet Baby Jesus'. The film, set in Bethlehem, Maryland sees Lott play a pregnant young hippie in the seventies who visits her mother for Christmas along with her boyfriend Joe. more
'Mo' Sweeps BAFTA TV Craft Boards
The Northen Ireland shot biopic, 'Mo' which chronicles the life of the late Labour MP and former Northern Ireland Secretary, Mo Mowlam came away from the BAFTA craft awards clutching three gongs. more

3D Cinema Course at Screen Training Ireland

RTÉ Worship Calls for Commissioning Applications
RTÉ is currently accepting proposals for 14 x 55' + 3 x 10' minority faith festival broadcasts. The aim of these broadcasts is to complement RTÉ's schedule of in-house, studio-based worship in a way that reflects Christian belief, practice and worship in today's Ireland. more

BAI Signs 10 Year Contract with City Broadcasting Ltd.
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has today, Monday 24th May signed a ten year sound broadcasting contract with City Broadcasting Limited (trading as Dublin's Q102) for the provision of a music-based commercial sound broadcasting service for a general audience in the 35-55 age group on the FM band in Dublin City and County. more
NI Screen Calls for Funding Applications
In the last year Northern Ireland Screen has invested over £800k from the Northern Ireland Screen Fund, financed by Invest Northern Ireland with support from the European Regional Development Fund, in non drama television. The group is currently inviting Non Drama/Factual programmes and Cultural Landmark Documentary funding applications. more
Farrell and Collette Shun Daylight for 'Fright Night'
'Ondine' star Colin Farrell has signed on to star in Craig Gillespie's re-make of the 1985 horror film, 'Fright Night'. The Dubliner will star in the film as the blood-sucking neighbour of Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine) and Anton Yelchin (Terminator Slavation). more

The Oireachtas Media Awards, hosted by RTÉ's Aengus Mac Grianna, were held this week in Dublin's Framleigh House and saw the bestowal of awards on Irish media bodies who are seen to promote the Irish language, amongst them Irish newspaper Foinse, TV series 'Na Cloigne' and presenter Daithi O'Sé who was dubbed Gala Gael Star of the Year at the ceremony. more

Curran Named Head of CR Branded Entertainment
CR Entertainment, Ltd. has appointed Trevor Curran as its new Head of Branded Entertainment. Curran will be responsible for a €1m fund to co-produce six branded cross-media content shows over the next two years. more
One World Media Lauds Irish Talent
RTÉ and TG4 have received One World Media Award nominations. 'What In The World: Noma In Niger' and 'Africa Rising' both feature in the MDG award category, the winner of which will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 22nd. more
