'Sisk' Scheduled for January Shoot, Cunningham to Star
Parallel Films' 'Sisk' is expected to start shooting in January 2010. Also known as 'Day of Rest', the film will star IFTA winning actor Liam Cunningham (Hunger, The Guard) and is scheduled for a Dublin shoot in the New Year with writer/director Brian O'Malley at the helm. more
Robert Sheehan Selected as Ireland's Shooting Star
The European Film Promotion (EFP) has announced the ten Shooting Stars of 2010 and Irish actor Robert Sheehan (Cherrybomb) has been selected. The chosen individuals will be introduced at its annual presentation of new acting talent at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). more
Wardrop's 'His & Hers' Screening at Sundance
Ken Wardrop's feature documentary 'His & Hers' has been chosen to screen in competition as part of the 2010 Sundance film festival. 'Bhutto', a documentary co-photographed by Irish cinematographer Noel Donnellon (Transparent), will also screen. more
'Kells' and 'The Rooster' Amongst Annie Nominations
The International Animated Film Society (ASIFA-Hollywood) has announced its nominations for the 37th Annual Annie Awards and Tomm Moore's feature 'The Secret of Kells' and Barley Films' animated short 'The Rooster, the Crocodile and the Night Sky' are amongst the shortlist. more

'Colony', the feature documentary from debut directors Ross McDonnell and Carter Gunn has scooped the First Appearance award at the IDFA awards which were held on Friday, November 27th. more
'The Last Furlong' Approaches Starting Line
'The Last Furlong' a France-Ireland co-production is set to start shooting in March 2010. The film which centres on a love between two teenagers will be shot around Dublin. The feature is written by Nick Murphy (The Running Mate) and will be directed by Agnes Merlet (Dorothy Mills). more

Filming Wraps on 'Portrait of a Zombie'
Production has recently wrapped on the set of feature film 'Portrait of a Zombie' from Irish born director, Bing Bailey. The low budget black comedy/horror film explores the story of a working class Irish family who become caught up in a zombie invasion of Dublin. more
Anne-Marie Duff Raises the Barre as 'Margot'
The concluding part of the BBC Four drama series, 'Women We Loved' will see Irish actress Anne-Marie Duff (Nowhere Boy, The Magdalene Sisters) portraying the prima ballerina Margot Fonteyn. more
Irish School of Animation's 'Olinda' Receives Animarte Nod
'Olinda', a short animation from Irish School of Animation (Ballyfermot College of Further Education) graduate, Bruno Palma, has been selected from over 200 submissions as one of 18 films to be screened as part the Animarte 2009 Festival. more

'The Craic' Irish DVD Premieres December 4th
Element Pictures Distribution has announced that 'The Craic' will receive its premiere Irish DVD release from December 4th. Set in 1980's Belfast, this fish-out-of-water comedy about two Irish runaways in Australia stars the stand-up comedians Jimeoin McKeown (The Jimeoin: All Over the Shop) and Alan McKee (Divorcing Jack). more
