UTV Group Turnover Down 10%
UTV has announced its financial development so far in 2009 which sees a group turnover down 10% at £54.5 million this year compared to last year's £60.9 million more
IFTA Academy Puts Music Centre Stage
The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) has announced details for their inaugural IFTA Music Forum, focusing on Music for the Moving Image, which will take place in Dublin on 4 September 2009. Guests include Oscar winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement), Air Edel's Maggie Rodford and Irish director Kirsten Sheridan (August Rush). more
Sheridan to Receive Dingle Gregory Peck Honour
Irish writer/director/producer Jim Sheridan has been named the recipient of this year's Gregory Peck Award, an honour bestowed in recognition of Excellence in the Art of Film, at the 2009 Dingle Film Festival. more
'Game of Thrones' Adds Names to Cast
HBO's 'Game of Thrones' pilot which is due to commence production at The Paint Hall, Belfast, in October has added more names to its growing cast list. more

'The Tudors' Attracts 2.3 million BBC Audience
The first episode of the third series of 'The Tudors', broadcast on BBC2 last Friday night, drew an average audience of 2.3 million over the 90-minute show which started at 9.00pm. This figure is almost 1 million more than the programme's usual audience average. more
Gallagher Crowned 'Lord of the Ring'
Sean 'The Dragon' Gallagher has been crowned winner of 'Charity Lords of the Ring' in the climatic final part of the series which was broadcast on Saturday the 22nd of August. The Cavan businessman beat the favourite to win, showbiz reporter Paul Martin. more

Kavaleer Productions' current project is a short animation entitled 'Hassan Everywhere' which explores the brief but passionate friendship of an Israeli writer, Dorit Rabinyan and a Palestinian artist, Hassan Hourani - both exiles during a freezing New York winter. more
