RTÉ Unveils Autumn Schedule
From their Montrose Studios RTÉ today unveiled their 2009/2010 autumn/winter schedule which consists of an assortment of new and returning home-produced programmes. In the coming season there will be over 55 brand new home-produced series and documentaries, and over 45 returning home-produced series, made by in-house and independent producers. more
Irish Titles Selected for for Montreal Film Fest
John N. Smith's Canada-Ireland co-production 'Love & Savagery' will be receiving its world premiere screening at the 33rd Montreal World Film Festival (27 August - 7 September), also screening is documentary 'Child of the Dead End'. more
Sean Munsanje Wins 'Total Xposure' Contest
The new presenter of TV3's flagship entertainment show 'Xpose' has been unveiled after a seven week reality show, which searched the length and breadth of the country, to find the latest member of the glamorous gang. more
'Avatar Days' Scores in Soho Shorts Fest
'Avatar Days', the first short film by Piranha Bar's Creative Director Gavin Kelly, picked up its second major award by winning Best Documentary Short at the Rushes Soho Shorts festival in London. more
LA Irish Film Festival Announces Line Up
Conor McPherson's 'The Eclipse' which will open the festival at the Academy's Linwood Dunn Theatre in Hollywood. The film stars Ciaran Hinds (who recently won Best Actor at the Tribeca Festival for his performance in the role), and Aidan Quinn. more

Neeson to Star in Germany Based Thriller
Liam Neeson is to star in a new thriller called 'Unknown White Male'. The film written by Karl Gajdusek, will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra whose new thriller, 'Orphan', opened in Irish cinemas last week, tells the story of the story of a doctor who is involved in a serious car accident while on a trip to Berlin with his wife. When he wakes up from a coma he begins to suspect that another man has taken over his life. more
Bursary Awards Deadline Extended
The deadline for the next round of Bursary awards from the Arts Council (originally 5 November 2009) has been extended and the new deadline is 21 January 2010. more
Robert Flaherty Feature Doc to Begin Post Production
Editing will begin shortly on 'A Boatload of Wild Irishmen', a feature length documentary on Robert Flaherty, who became one of documentary cinema's most influential figures directing and producing the 1922 feature length film 'Nanook of the North'. more
TG4 To Air Five Docs From Nemeton/W.I.T. Students
Commencing Sunday, 16th August, at 9.30pm, TG4 will be broadcasting five documentaries that Waterford Institute of Techonolgy students have created in collaboration with Nemeton Television and Udaras na Gaeltachta. more
