Exciting opportunities now open on Film & Media postgraduate courses at The National Film School

National Film School at IADT
Postgraduate courses at the National Film School, renowned for its Oscar-winning alumni, are currently open for application.

These courses include MA Broadcast Production for Radio + Television, MA Creative Production + Screen Finance, MA in Screenwriting for Film + Television, as well as, Professional Development Certificate part-time courses in Multi-Camera Television, Production Management for Animation, Radio Production, Research Methods for the Creative Practices, Single Camera Factual Production, and Writing Television Drama.

"The National Film School at IADT welcomes applicants to its broad base of postgraduate and professional development courses focused on the screen arts,” Rónán Ó Muirthile, Head of The National Film School told IFTN. “It is a challenging time for all of us, but it is also a perfect time to take that leap and gain new skills and abilities to either develop your current career or transfer to a new one." 

MA Broadcast Production for Radio + Television

A one-year intensive MA programme for those who want practical production skills in radio, online, and television broadcasting plus a deep understanding of the broadcast industry today. Gain hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art TV and Radio studios from lecturers who are active in industry. The combined practical and theoretical knowledge will lead to a broad understanding of the opportunities available to you in current and future media landscapes.

MA Creative Production + Screen Finance

Students with a proposal for either a feature-length fiction or non-fiction film, an animated feature or a TV series project will learn how to synthesise creativity with the business side of film-making in order to develop their project to viable, industry-level standards.  They will learn how to develop and pitch their projects, how to creatively and financially package them, and how the markets work and what audiences want.

The master’s program is taught and mentored by industry professionals and through classes, workshops, and market festival visits; leading students to be actively engaged with both the national and international film making landscapes. 

MA in Screenwriting for Film + Television

Develop and write a full-length screenplay as you develop a television drama series proposal. Learn how to structure, edit, and pitch your story from top Industry screenplay professionals. Engage in workshops with National Film School guest speakers, including award-winning writers, producers, and directors. “Having access to high-quality film equipment and TV studios gives writers like myself an avenue to create magic from paper to screen without spending a fortune.” - Derek Ugochukwu (Graduate)
