The deadline to apply to the mentorship scheme, which is open to writers or writer/directors, is Tuesday, April 11th 2017.
First launched in 2006, Guiding Lights supports upcoming filmmakers and professionals through high-level mentoring, complemented by a range of training and networking activities.
During their time on the scheme, each mentee is matched with a leading film industry professional who provides advice and guidance over a nine-month period.
The last Guiding Lights scheme saw, amongst others, Andrew Haigh (WEEKEND, 45 YEARS), Clio Barnard (THE ARBOR, THE SELFISH GIANT) and Tessa Ross (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, 12 YEARS A SLAVE) join an illustrious list of former mentors, including Danny Boyle, Barbara Broccoli, Hossein Amini, Sam Mendes, Walter Murch, Joanna Hogg, Alex Garland, Abi Morgan, Nira Park and Kenneth Branagh.
If you are an Ireland-based screenwriter interested in taking part in the scheme, it is now open to applications directly through the Guiding Lights website.
Guiding Lights is a talent development scheme, not a training scheme. Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record in their field, along with a strong commitment to pro-actively advancing their film career.
