Irish actress and writer Sharon Horgan has added to her very impressive awards tally this year by winning the Creative Skillset Writing Award at the Women in Film and TV Awards, held in London.
Horgan was given the award in recognition of her hugely successful Channel 4 comedy series, ‘Catastrophe’. She accepted the accolade from the set of her new TV series ‘Divorce’ in New York, presented by her ‘Catastrophe’ co-writer and co-star, Rob Delaney in London.
Horgan has also recently won IFTA Awards for Best Performance and Best Writer for ‘Catastrophe’, which has just finished airing its’ acclaimed second season on Channel 4.
Horgan’s new show ‘Divorce’, which she created and acts as Executive Producer, began shooting in New York on November 16th and stars Sarah Jessica Parker (who also Exec Produces), Molly Shannon and Thomas Haden Church.
Other winners at the WFTV Awards, which was hosted by Sandi Toksvig and supported by Sky, include Joanna Lumley who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and Charlotte Rampling who won Best Performance for her role in ’45 Years’.
