The Royal Television Society Launches 2019 Programme Awards for Northern Ireland
31 Jul 2019 : News Desk
Royal Television Society NI are celebrating their 5th annual award ceremony
The ceremony is set to take place at The Mac, as part of the Belfast Media Festival on Thursday 7th November.

The Royal Television Society launched its 2019 Programme Awards for the Northern Ireland creative industries, celebrating the Award’s 5th birthday with a party in The Orpheus, Belfast. Once again Ka-Boom, one of Northern Ireland’s leading facilities companies, is the headline sponsor of the RTS NI Programme Awards.

Kieran Doherty, Chair of RTS NI said:

“It’s hard to believe it’s just five years since we announced our first Northern Ireland Programme Awards, which were set up to recognise the amazing content being produced in Northern Ireland. But what a five years it has been!

“Back in 2015, Game of Thrones was making its 5h series here, Line of Duty was filming on the streets of Belfast, Lily’s Driftwood Bay was in its infancy and Derry Girls was still just an idea inside the amazing brain of Lisa McGee and now one of the longest running quiz shows in the UK, BBC’s flagship Mastermind, is relocating to Belfast.

“So it’s now more important than ever before for the RTS NI to recognise and highlight the exceptional people working in Northern Ireland’s creative sector as well as celebrating the amazing growth of the industry over the past number of years.”

Zach Willis, Company Director and Co-Founder of Ka-Boom said:

“The RTS NI Awards are now the most sought-after screen awards in Northern Ireland and we are delighted to be involved once again as headline sponsor. Ka-Boom has grown substantially with the industry over the past few years providing high quality facilities not only to local companies, but to the growing international sector who base their productions here, so we look forward to applauding the very best of the creative industries in Northern Ireland as headline sponsor of this year’s Awards.”
