Pierce Brosnan To Play Drug Designer In Thriller ‘Urge’
Navan native Pierce Brosnan, who will next be seen starring in 'The November Man,' has signed on to star in producer Aaron Kaufman's (‘Machete Kills’, ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’, ‘Chef’) directorial debut, 'Urge.'

The dramatic thriller, scripted by Kaufman, Jason Zumwalt and Jerry Stahl, is about a group of friends, who while on holiday at an island destination, take part in a new designer drug that makes them lose their ability to control their urges. Brosnan will be playing the creator and gatekeeper of the island’s new drug.

Production is expected to kick off this month in New York. Skip Williamson ('Underworld') and Mark Neveldine ('Crank') will produce through their Blackmrkt Incorporated banner and financing will be from Bridgeworks Media Capital, TCI and Tresoro Ventures. Sarah Bolger Secures Role in Epic WWI film alongside Gerard Depardieu
Actress Sarah Bolger will play a musical prima donna in an upcoming World War One drama. The Dubliner will star opposite French actor Gerard Depardieu, who is set to play a Russian prisoner-of-war commander in the film, in the film called ‘It's Showtime, Siberia’.

Based on a true story, the film follows a group of POWs in a Siberian camp during WWI, who put on an old musical – the stage show ‘The Czardash Princess’, which was first performed in 1915. Jamie Campbell Bower (‘Twilight’, ‘Camelot’) will star as the conductor. Academy Award winning director Robert Dornhelm will be behind the camera.

The feature has a €12m budget with shooting in Hungary, Germany and Austria, and a planned release in 2016.

Bolger is best-known for her roles in ‘In America’ and ‘The Tudors’. Her upcoming productions include thriller ‘Lazurus’, and ‘My All American’, in which she stars o[pposite Aaron Eckhart (‘The Dark Knight’).

Irish actress Kerry Condon for ‘Breaking Bad’ spin-off
Last but not least, Tipperary actress Kerry Condon has revealed that she has been cast in the ‘Breaking Bad’ spin-off, ‘Better Call Saul’. The Irish Independent has reported that Condon told U Magazine: “It's so top secret, it's crazy… It's probably the most top secret thing I've done. When I arrived on the job I didn't even know the character's name. I'd no idea what my storyline was.”

Condon’s credits include ‘Believe’, ‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Luck’ and ‘Rome’. She also stars in the new Irish film ‘Gold’, which is out in cinemas next Friday.
