MPI/Dark Sky Films and Workshed Films have completed principal photography on Conor McMahon’s horror story set in Laois.
‘From The Dark’ stars Niamh Algar (‘North Circular Road’, ‘Savage Eye’), Stephen Cromwell (‘The Devil’s Woods’, ‘Love/Hate’) and Gerry O’Brien (‘Rrign of Fire’). The story centres on a young couple on a road trip through the Irish countryside who encounter an ancient force of evil.
MPI Pictures Dublin produced ‘From The Dark’ in partnership with Workshed films. McMahon has earned a cult following through his earlier film, ‘Stitches’, which won the Carnet Jove Jury Award at Sitges 2012. He also produced horror pics ‘Dead Meat’ and ‘The Braineater’.
MPI Media Group evp Greg Newman stated: “McMahon has always had a unique cinematic vision and we’re thrilled to bring his fresh and twisted take to the genre in yet another one of his films.”
The credits of MPI Media Group’s genre arm Dark Sky Films include ‘The Innkeepers’, ‘Stake Land’, ‘Late Phases’, ‘Frankenstein’s Army’ and ‘Here Comes The Devil’.
