Irish Actress Katie McGrath Joins 'Jurassic World'
Irish actress Katie McGrath has landed a role in the much-anticipated dinosaur flick ‘Jurassic World’, directed by ‘Safety Not Guaranteed's’ Colin Trevorrow and executive produced by the franchise's original director Steven Spielberg.

There is no word yet on which role the newly-added actress will play in the film. McGrath currently stars in NBC’s ‘Dracula’, and had roles in BBC’s ‘Merlin’ and Showtime Networks’ ‘The Tudors’. The movie, which is seen as a continuation of the Jurassic Park franchise, has also cast Judy Greer (13 Going on 30) and Lauren Lapkus (Orange is the New Black). The cast already includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio and BD Wong. The screenplay was co-written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, and the film is being produced by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley.

Jurassic World is scheduled for release in the summer of 2015.

Tom Hardy Cast in BBC Drama ‘Taboo’
Actor Tom Hardy has been cast in Steven Knight’s new eight-part period miniseries ‘Taboo’, which will film in the UK.

Hardy will partner with filmmaker and executive producer Ridley Scott on the drama series set in 1813. Knight created the drama based on an original story by Hardy and his father, Chips Hardy. ‘Taboo’ follows Hardy’s character, James Keziah Delaney, who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds and seeking to avenge his father’s death. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a dangerous game with two warring nations, Britain and America.

As well as Scott, executive producers for ‘Taboo’ include Liza Marshall and Kate Crowe for Scott Free, Hardy and Dean Baker for Hardy Baker, and Knight. Chips Hardy is serving as consulting producer and Sonar is distributing outside the UK.

Hardy is co-starring in the second series of Knight’s Birmingham-set period gangster series ‘Peaky Blinders’, which is filming on location in northern England for the BBC. The series also features Irish actor Cillian Murphy. Hardy also stars in Knight’s upcoming feature film ‘Locke’.

Due to the UK’s launch of a TV tax credit in mid-2013, high end international television productions are now finding it more viable to film in the UK. TV drama ’24: Live Another Day’ is among the most highest profile of those filming and the Disney Channel have also just announced plans to film its four-part TV movie ‘Evermoor’ on location in Cheshire.

Shooting will start for ‘Taboo’ in the UK in January 2015.

First Teaser Trailer for ‘The Expendables 3’
The first teaser trailer has arrived online for ‘The Expendables 3’ which stars Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes.

This summer’s action sequel looks set to incorporate some “fresh blood” in the shapes of old-school tough guys such as Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terry Crews, and Randy Couture, who will all be returning to the cast in their previous roles. New recruits include Ford, Kellan Lutz, Gibson, Kelsey Grammer, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz and UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey. Director Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) is joined by director of photography Peter Menzies Jr., who also shot ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and ‘Clash of the Titans’ in 2010. Stallone co-wrote ‘Expendables 3’ with Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger, the duo behind last year’s fun 1990s throwback ‘Olympus Has Fallen’.

Lionsgate’s upcoming ‘Expendables 3’ is expected to hit Irish cinemas this summer. Check out the teaser trailer below:
