'Lost & Found' to Release Theatrically in North America on March 22nd

The feature film from Irish writer director Liam O Mochain (‘WC’, ‘The Book That Wrote Itself’) was picked up last November by US based distributor & sales company Gravitas Ventures for all rights worldwide (excluding Ireland, UK, Australia and New Zealand).

O Mochain’s third feature film was released in theatres in the UK in October 2018 and Ireland in July 2018. The film had its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh where it sold out instantly, won best foreign film at the 2018 Arizona International Film Festival and was a buzz title at the recent 25 th Austin Film Festival last November. The film was acquired by Rialto Film Distribution for Australia and New Zealand, FILM 4 and High Fliers for the UK and RTE in Ireland. 

Speaking on the theatrical release Liam O Mochain says:

 “We are delighted that ‘Lost & Found’ is getting a theatrical release in the US and Canada. I am really looking forward to audiences getting an opportunity to engage with the film”. 

Producer Bernie Grummell added:

“We are thrilled the film is getting a theatrical release in North America, it was a labour of love for everyone involved over the 5 years of filming”.

Filmed in Co. Laois, ‘Lost & Found’ follows the story of 7 interconnecting stories set in and around a lost & found office of an Irish train station. All segments are inspired by true stories, share a theme of something lost or found, and characters that come in and out of each other’s lives.

The ensemble cast includes Norma Sheahan (‘Moone Boy’), Liam Carney (‘Outlander’, ‘Angela’s Ashes’), Aoibhin Garrihy (‘The Fall’), Anthony Morris (‘Games of Thrones’), Seamus Hughes (‘Jimmy’s Hall’), Liam O Mochain (‘WC’), Brendan Conroy (‘Vikings’), Barbara Adair (‘Derry Girls’, ‘Grabbers’), Sean Flanagan (‘Foil Arms & Hog), Olga Wehrly (‘Vivarium’, ‘Nightflyers’), Diarmuid Noyes (‘Borgia’, ‘Killing Bono’), Lynette Callaghan (‘The Tudors’) and Daniel Costelloe (‘Albert Nobbs’, ‘Magdalene Sisters’). Fionn Comerford was the DoP on the project, with Ciara Brophy as Editor, David Wilson as production designer and an original score by Richie Buckley.

Alongside his feature film credits, O Mochain has made numerous shorts, documentaries and television shows. His 2007 feature film ‘WC’ won Best Foreign Film at the Las Vegas International Film Festival and screened at Montreal, Galway and the Cairo International Film Festival. Liam’s debut feature ‘The Book That Wrote Itself’ had its world premiere at the 1999 Galway Film Fleadh and premiered internationally at the Vancouver International Film Festival. ‘Fortune’, his first short film, won best short at the 1998 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival whilst his short film ‘Covet’ was longlisted for an Academy Award in 2013.

The film is opening in Boston, San Francisco and Charlottetown PEI March 22nd. NY, Albany, Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary March 29th; Chicago and Washington April 12th; and L.A., Long Beach, Miami and Seattle opening April 19th.
