Coco Television's 'Room to Improve' Celebrates Record Viewing Figures On RTÉ One
21 Feb 2018 : Nathan Griffin
722,000 people tuned in to watch COCO Television’s ‘Room To Improve’ on RTE1, Sunday night. With a staggering share of 51%, the hugely popular show saw Dermot Bannon make his way to Donegal to work on Daniel and Majella O’Donnell’s home.

Dermot Bannon’s ‘Room to Improve’ was the only independent production to rank in TAMIreland’s top 20 shows of 2017, earning an impressive 14th spot with 702,500 viewers behind major Irish sporting events such as Six Nations, The Late Late Toy Show, and RTE’s ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’. Impressively, Coco Television’s series 11 debut has already exceeded last year’s highest ratings by 20,000 viewers.

Linda Cullen, executive producer and Head of Television at COCO says:

“It’s such a delight to see Room to Improve growing even more in popularity, in its 11th series. There are wonderful home-owners and stunning new designs by Dermot again this year. Daniel and Majella and beautiful Donegal was a fantastic start”.

Room To Improve will go out for the next seven weeks, seeing Ireland’s favourite architect work on houses around the country in places such as Tipperary, Fermory in Cork and Portrane in North Dublin.

Next week sees Dermot taking on his biggest Room To Improve project yet.  In Fermoy, Dermot attempts a challenging combination of old and new for his clients Dave and Susie as he merges a high-end, luxurious extension complete with swim spa, gym and sauna with the 170-year-old mansion that Susie fell in love with as a teenager.

The series producer on the show is Clare Hughes, the series director is Joanne McGrath, the executive producer is Linda Cullen, and the editor is Orla Daly. The show was produced by Coco Television and commissioned RTÉ.
