21 Apr 2021 : News Desk
Screen Skills Ireland
Screen Skills Ireland has announced the next call for applications to the Screen Stakeholders Funding Scheme, which enables organisations to provide skills development opportunities and initiatives to the Irish screen sector.

To date, Screen Skills Ireland has awarded over €330,000 to 19 organisations to enable them to deliver a wide range of skills development activities.

The Scheme is available for organisations, guilds, and companies that support the screen sector in Ireland and enables them to apply for funding to deliver a series of online events or other skills related activities across a 6 to 12-month period.

These activities include courses, events, masterclasses, workshops, seminars, webinars, conferences, panel discussions, networking events, mentoring, coaching, consultancy support, data gathering, publication of reports, and the provision of initiatives that support access to the screen sector.

For the 2021 Stakeholders funding call, Screen Skills Ireland would like applicants to address at least one of the following seven identified priority areas:

  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Sustainability/Green Production
  • Future Technology/Virtual Production
  • Improving Workplace Culture & Wellbeing
  • Regional Development
  • Careers in the Screen Industry for Young People
  • Development of a Competency Framework for Sectoral Roles (N.B. this does not include competency frameworks for live action crew and animation roles)

There will be one call for the Stakeholders Funding Scheme in 2021 worth €200,000. Due to COVID-19, Screen Skills Ireland can only accept applications for online activities, and/or activities that take into account all government and HSE guidelines in relation to COVID-19.

The deadline for the current funding call is Friday 14 May 2021.
