The sixth Animation Dingle Festival kicks off tomorrow Friday 23rd March, where industry and third level participants join together to celebrate the best in class of animated content. The event is made up of conferences, screenings, workshops, and the 2018 Student Animation Awards.
Brown Bag founders Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O’Connell will receive the Murakami Award.
Keynote speakers include Aardman co-founder and Creative Director Peter Lord, and Alice Webb, head of BBC Children (CBBC and CBeebies).
Top animation executives from Disney, Nickelodeon, BBC and all major broadcasters plus a wealth of industry professionals, will meet at the Festival to participate in the Conference, Workshops, festival screens, panel discussions and Awards ceremony, to share their thoughts on the many opportunities that exist today in the Animation Sector, both in Ireland and internationally. The festival hopes to offer students a global perspective on the art of developing, financing, and producing animated content, for screens both big and small.
