12 Jun 2020 : News Desk
Clones Film Festival
Clones Film Festival, this year celebrating its 19th year, will take place in the Co. Monaghan town from 22 - 25 October 2020.

The festival, in association with Clones Credit Union, wishes to further develop its support for film production in the town, and County Monaghan, by commissioning an original short film, shot in Clones and the surrounding areas in 2020.

Under this commission by Clones Film Festival, an award of €4,000 will be made towards the cost of the film production; scripting, shooting, editing, and screening.

The Short Film will then be one of the highlights of this year’s festival, taking centre stage on the closing night of Clones Film Festival (October 25th, 2020).

Short film, short documentary, and short animation will all be considered. Applications are invited for original script ideas from filmmakers at all stages of their development.

Due to Covid-19 regulations, a review of this competition will take place closer to the deadlines outlines below. All entrants will be updated as decisions are made.

  • Use local extras where required.
  • Meet the deadline date set by the committee, attend, and screen the short on closing night of Clones Film Festival (25th October 2020).
