Once again RTÉ’s The Late Late Show Country Special has proved a massive hit with audiences, with an average of 677,400 people tuning in and a share of 52%, making it the second highest rating show this season.
The episode which broadcast on Friday 14th April on RTÉ one, saw a jam packed programme featuring country music superstar Charley Pride along with everyone who's anyone in Irish country including Charlie Landsborough, Daniel O'Donnell, Nathan Carter, TR Dallas, Brendan Shine, Philomena Begley and Susan McCann.
The show got off to a rousing start with an ensemble of country greats performing much-loved Country Roads.
Host Ryan Tubridy commented: “We had tremendous fun on Friday night. The great and the good of Irish country joined us in studio for a very special night of music and chat. It's great that the folks at home enjoyed it in such big numbers. We look forward to celebrating the strength of country music in Ireland again next year.”
The Late Late Show Country Special has proven to be a huge hit since it started last year, coming second only the toy show in terms of popularity.
