Science on Screen Funding Initiative Information Day Announced
2017-02-15 9:20:00 : Katie McNeice
Applicants to the scheme which is returning for 2017 can benefit from an informative session, as announced by Galway Film Centre & CÚRAM, Centre for Research in Medical Devices on Friday, March 10th from 11:00-13:30.

The session will be held in the Biomedical Sciences Building, Newcastle Rd, NUI Galway.

Science on Screen is a funding strand for creative documentaries engaging with an area of scientific research currently underway in CÚRAM, which will fully fund a twenty-six minute film with a budget of€35,000.

Details of this research will be presented to filmmakers at the information day followed by a networking session between them and scientists.

A panel with speakers from RTÉ, TG4, the Galway Film Fleadh and the SFI discussing avenues of distribution open to these films will also be included in the information day.

In 2016 the project funded ‘Feats of Modest Valour’ and ‘Mending Legends’ which deal with Parkinson’s Disease and tendon injuries in sports people. For more information on these projects read: Medical Documentaries to screen as part of Science on Screen Initiative.
