The second annual festival will run from November 18th-20th with its opening night featuring an actors panel, screenings, and with special guests Eddie Jackson (Game of Thrones) and Aoibheann McCaul (Fair City) in attendance.
Dub Web Fest is dedicated to showcasing web series and original digital content and opens on Friday November 18th with a free drinks reception at 6pm in Filmbase, Templebar.
Jackson and McCaul are set to take part in an Actors Panel on the night. Guests also include ‘The Hurler’ writer and star Tony Kelly, who will present the second season of the series.
Karen Healy, Founder of Dublin-based production company Pondering Media, who performed in a sketch on RTÉ’s IFTA-nominated 'Irish Pictorial Weekly' will also attend on the night. She will be present for a screening of ‘Listen to the Experts’, which was nominated for the Filmbase Best Irish series Award.
Irish YouTuber Melanie Murphy, whose lifestyle channel has gathered over 23 million views in just two years will be in attendance to present her new project ‘Femme’, a spoken word film about bisexuality.
Ryan Wyear (Cirklon 3) who directed the Aphex Twin’s first music video since 1999 at just twelve years of age will be present, as a selection of his digital work is screened.
Also premiering at Dub Web Fest Opening night is ‘The Players’, a fictional web series created by EMMY nominated writer Nuno Bernardo (Beat Girl) and produced by beActive.
Other programme highlights for the remainder of the weekend are Writer James Moran (Mina Murray’s Diary) host screenwriting workshop, as will ‘Room’ Sound Designers Niall Brady and Steve Fanagan.
