XLrator Media has released the first trailer for ‘Jimi: All Is by My Side,’ starring Andre Benjamin (Outkast). The film opens in Ireland on August 8th of this year. Oscar-winning ‘12 Years a Slave’ writer John Ridley directed the Jimi Hendrix biopic and wrote the script.
‘All Is by My Side’ premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, where Open Road and XLrator acquired U.S. rights. The feature also screened at SXSW and opened both the Seattle International Film Festival and Italy’s Biografilm Festival.
The feature film is an Irish/American/British co-production, and was co-produced byDublin-based Subotica Entertainment and producer Tristan Orpen Lynch. The film received funding from the Irish Film Board. Its shooting locations included Dublin and Wicklow. Pre-production took place in Wicklow.
Imogen Poots, Burn Gorman and Hayley Atwell will co-star opposite Benjamin, as will Irish cast members Ruth Negga, Aoibhinn McGinnity, Laurence Kinlan and Amy De Bhrún.
