Brown Bag Films Wins Best Pre-School Animated Series At 2017 Kid Screen Awards

‘Doc Mc Stuffins’ produced by Disney Junior and Brown Bag Films in Dublin
‘Doc Mc Stuffins’ the children’s animation produced by Disney Junior and Brown Bag Films in Dublin. Won an award for Best Animated Series, in the pre-school programming category at the 2017 Kid Screen Awards.

The series which is created and executive produced by Chris Nee, follows the story of six-year-old Dottie ‘Doc’ McStuffins who wants to be a doctor like her mother and practices her dream by fixing the ‘ouchies’ and ‘oopsies’ amongst her toy and doll friends.

The winners of the 2017 Kidscreen Awards, which celebrates the best global work in kids television and digital media. Were announced at a special presentation event hosted by comedian Darrin Rose, in Miami on Tuesday evening the 14th February at the 2017 Kidscreen Summit.

Other winners on the night included; ‘Shaun the Sheep’ by Aardman Animations which took away the Best In Class award in the kids category, in the tweens/teens category Bento Box Entertainment and 20th Century FOX Television’s animated series ‘Bobs Burgers’ got Best In Class as well as winning various other awards for Best Animated Series and Best Voice Talent in the creative talent category.

Netflix was another of the big winners on the night taking home the broadcasting category’s coveted Channel of the Year prize.

The ‘Doc Mc Stuffins’ series first premiered on Disney Junior on March 23rd, 2012 where it broke ratings records to become the number one pre-school show on U.S cable television. In 2015 it was presented with a prestigious Peabody Award for Children’s Programming.
