The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominations, which sees ‘Lily’s Driftwood Bay’ producers Sixteen South nominated for best Independent Production Company of the Year.
‘Lily’s Driftwood Bay’ received the European Prix Jeunesse in May of this year, while Sixteen South’s new 7,500 sq ft animation studio was opened the following month in Belfast, representing a £1M investment to the sector in Ireland.
The animated series features the vocal talents of Ardal O’Hanlon (Handsome Devil), Orlagh O’Keefe, Stephen Fry (Love & Friendship) and Peter Mullan (Quarry).
Additional Irish talent in the line-up of nominees are ‘Secret life of Boys’ development team of Zodiak Kids Studios, who are nominated in the Interactive – Original category.
In the International category, the production team behind ‘Peter Rabbit’ is nominated, consisting of Nick Jr., Silvergate Media and Frederick Warne & Co Limited, in association with Brown Bag Films/CBeebies.
Winners will be announced on at the awards ceremony on Sunday November 20th at the Roundhouse London.
