Irish actress Seainin Brennan
Séainín Brennan (‘The Fall’, ‘Hidden’) has joined the cast of the new original Netflix thriller series ‘Hache’, which will premiere later in 2019 in more than 190 countries.

‘Hache’, created and written by Verónica Fernández (‘El Príncipe’, ‘Velvet Collection’), directed by Jorge Torregrossa (‘Cocaine Coast’, ‘La vida inesperada’) and produced by Weekend Studio for Netflix, is inspired by real events. The Spanish language series is made up of 8 episodes and is currently filming on location in Barcelona, Spain.

‘Hache’ stars Adriana Ugarte (‘The Time Between’, ‘Julieta’) and Javier Rey (‘Cocaine Coast’, ‘Sin Fin’). It is the story of Helena (Ugarte) a woman catapulted to the heroin trafficking business, amid the violence and glamour of Barcelona during the 1960s.

Séainín, who delivers a bilingual script in both Spanish and English, plays Anna McVeigh, the wife of the American Consul in Barcelona.

Filming in Barcelona since November 2018, Séainín told IFTN:

“Hache is superbly written and will have audiences on the edge of their seats. It is both a privilege and an honour to work with Verónica Fernández, who has created a brilliant set of complex and compelling characters. My character Anna is a fiery redhead in every sense of the phrase. She enjoys her privileged position and the Barcelona nightlife a little too much, with disastrous consequences. I love playing Anna and working with Jorge Torregrossa and the incredible cast and crew on Hache for Netflix is definitely a career highlight.”

Séainín is best known on screen as grieving mother Liz Tyler in Allan Cubitt’s critically acclaimed global thriller ‘The Fall’, starring alongside Jamie Dornan (‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, ‘Anthropoid’) and Gillian Anderson (‘The X-Files’, ‘The Last King of Scotland’). She also stars opposite John Hannah (‘The Mummy’, ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’) as Sophie in the film ‘Girona’. Séainín was named ‘Woman of the Year in the Arts’ by the Belfast Telegraph for her breakthrough performance as Frances opposite Philip Glenister (‘Life on Mars’, ‘Ashes to Ashes’) in the BBC primetime drama ‘Hidden’ written by Ronan Bennett.

‘Hache’ will release on Netflix later this year.
