Kerry ETB Training Centre: Broadcast Production Traineeship

This is a practical, production-focused course providing an in-depth education in the production of documentary, drama, and entertainment formats.

Students will learn about producing, researching, writing, directing, capturing media, editing and delivering content for both location and studio-based productions. The course is designed to ensure new entrants have the skills and knowledge to work in pre-production, production and post-production.

Consisting of 52 weeks of full-time practical skills based training, the Broadcast Production Traineeship gives students access to industry standard equipment as well as City & Guilds accreditation. The traineeship also offers unique certifications such as the BECTU Safety Passport and access to The Dawn Workshops’ Masterclasses.

Requirements

  • Participants must reach 18 years of age before the end of the Traineeship. Applicants who are under 18 years of age require a Garda Parent/Guardian Consent Form signed by their parent or guardian
  • Leaving certificate standard of education of equivalent
  • A good verbal and written command of the English language
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to people at different levels
  • Demonstrate a positive outlook, be adaptable, and have the ability to work on your own initiative, to take direction and to work with others as part of a team
  • Computer skills are essential
  • Knowledge of the Irish media industry and sectors within
  • Driving licence is an advantage

Recruitment for this course is done through an interview process, which begins on October 15th. Applicants will be made aware of their selection the following week.

The Broadcast Production Traineeship begins on November 5th.

There is no course fee.
