08 Jan 2018 : Nathan Griffin
Irish actor Jack Reynor has been announced as the lead in CBS All Access’ new series ‘Strange Angel’, which is being produced by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.

The series is created Mark Heyman (‘Black Swan’) and based on George Pendle’s book, ‘Strange Angel’, which was inspired by the real events of Jack Parsons and explores the fine line between genius and madness, and furthermore what separates the realms of science from science fiction.

Jack Reynor will play the role of Jack Parsons, a brilliant and ambitious blue-collar worker of 1930s Los Angeles who started as a janitor at a chemical factory but had fantastical dreams that led him to birth the unknown discipline of American rocketry. Along the way, he fell into a mysterious world that included sex magick rituals at night, and he became a disciple of occultist Aleister Crowley. Parsons used Crowley’s teachings of self-actualization to support his unimaginable and unprecedented endeavour to the stars.

Reynor would be best known for his recent roles in ‘Sing Street’ for which he won an IFTA and ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction.’ Reynor has recently wrapped on Focus Features’ ‘On the Basis of Sex’, and can next be seen alongside James Franco, Dennis Quaid and Zoe Kravitz in Lionsgate’s action thriller ‘Kin’. Reynor will also feature in Andy Serkis’ motion capture adaption of Warner Brothers’ ‘The Jungle Book’, which is due for release later this year.

The Pilot is set to be shot by David Lowery who could potentially film additional episodes as he is also executive producing he show alongside writer Mark Heyman, David DiGilio, Ridley Scott, and David W. Zucker. Clayton Krueger will also co-executive produce the series.

The show is a CBS All Access production in association with Scott Free Productions.
