‘Dublin Oldschool’ Adaptation Begins Principal Photography
10 Aug 2017 : Katie McNeice
Dave Tynan is set to helm the feature film which adapts the acclaimed and award-winning stage play of the same name, and retains both Emmet Kirwan and Ian Lloyd Anderson in their leading roles.

The project is set to film over four weeks in Dublin City and Co. Wicklow.

Tynan received an IFTA just this year for the viral spoken word project ‘Heartbreak’, which was written and performed by Kirwan.

For ‘Dublin Oldschool’, Tynan is set to direct a script the pair have co-written, following wannabe DJ Jason as he reconnects with his estranged homeless brother Daniel, also a recovering addict.

Brian Quinn (T2 Trainspotting) and Ciaran Grace (Black 47) are also set to feature, as is Elizabeth Moynihan (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them). The wider cast also sees Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful), Seána Kerslake (A Date for Mad Mary), Mark O’Halloran (Adam & Paul) and Stephen Jones (Red Rock) in the line-up.

Michael Donnelly V of MDV and Dave Leahy of Warrior Films produce with Liam Ryan as Associate Producer. Rory Gilmartin is Executive Producer for Element Pictures who will also distribute the film through Element Pictures Distribution.

Other crew members are JJ Rolfe as DoP, Production Designer Mark Kelly and SJ Ffrench O’Carroll as Costume Designer.
