Tommy Bowe lines out for new ‘Getaways’ series on RTÉ One
09 May 2017 :
Tommy Bowe in Ibiza
Rugby star Tommy Bowe will join presenting team Joe Lindsay, Mairead Ronan and Vogue Williams in the new run of RTÉ One holiday series ‘Getaways’.

Following a hectic couple of months which saw injury end his Six Nations campaign as well as the birth of his first child, the Ulster star is now set for even more adventures both home and abroad.

Tommy kicks off his new presenting role when he heads to Ibiza this week.He said: "I’m very excited to be part of the Getaways team this year. I was disappointed after my injury in the Six Nations but this gives me an opportunity to explore another avenue while preparing myself for next season. Being a part of a great series like Getaways is a dream come true for me and I’m looking forward to the new challenge."

Once again Getaways will feature holiday destinations that can be reached directly from Ireland. Over the eight weeks Joe, Mairead, Vogue and Tommy will check out activities and attractions that viewers have recommended.

Along with a look at a different side of Ibiza, other destinations on this year’s wish list include a visit to the French Riviera and city breaks in New York and Porto.

The series, a Waddell Media Production for RTÉ and BBC Northern Ireland, will also take in a destination closer to home each week.

The series will air in early 2018 on both RTÉ One and BBC One Northern Ireland.
