The Celtic Media Festival launches this afternoon, Wednesday, May 3rd as top industry figures arrive on the Isle of Man. The event includes a keynote speech from RTÉ’s Director General Dee Forbes to be delivered on Thursday, May 4th.
Manx Radio presenter Christy DeHaven and BBC Northern Ireland's Rick Faragher unveiled spectacular views of the Isle of Man capital, Douglas, as they prepared to present at the Celtic Media Festival's four main awards ceremonies, set to take place at the festival over the three-day festival.
The presenters posed overlooking iconic Douglas Bay and on Douglas Head, in front of the Loughton Sheep, a massive sculpture created by local artists Darren Jackson and Stephanie Quayle especially for the Celtic Media Festival. It's the first time the festival has visited in the Isle of Man in its 40 year history.
Hundreds of delegates are arriving on the island, welcomed by cloudless skies and rising temperatures, as the major three-day festival gets ready to launch this afternoon.
The festival's first award winners will be revealed at the Day One Torc Awards ceremony, which will take place later today at the island's prestigious Villa Marina.
