The two-day training session runs from Saturday, April 22nd in Bow Street Actors Studio, and is tutored by Lorraine Glynn and Sonia Dolan.
The deadline for applications is Thursday April 13th.
Period Dramas form a major part of Ireland’s current film industry push. Productions the world over come to Ireland to make use of our historic estates and untouched 18th and 19th Century buildings right through the country.
To make a mark as a creative hair or makeup artist, having the best understanding of the ‘Period look’ is vital. This two-day workshop is aimed at upcoming enthusiastic hairdressers and make-up artists looking to improve their skill set and willing to learn new techniques, particularly in terms of what it takes to work the ‘crowd room’ and the high paced, fast moving ‘set floor’.
Taking you through the ways to achieve looks from the 1800s to 1900s, the professional tutors – Hair Designer Lorraine Glynn (The Secret Scripture, Brooklyn) and Make-Up Artist Sonia Dolan (Vikings, The Hobbit) – will host the workshop and share their collective wealth of experience and expert knowledge.
