Public Meeting concerning Ardmore Studios takes place Wednesday January 25th
20 Jan 2017 : Katie McNeice
The upcoming meeting will be held at 19:30 in the Royal Hotel Bray next Wednesday, and has been organised specifically to discuss the negative impact the sale of the studios would have on both the film industry and local economy.

All members of the public are welcome to attend, while local TDs and County Councillors have also been invited.

The sale of Ardmore Studios has been a growing issue since it was announced in October 2016 that the studios has been placed on the market for sale as a growing concern.

We covered the issue in an IFTN article last month entitled, Sale of Ardmore Studios may result in Residential Development of 18 Acre Site. It shows that despite an annual spend upwards of €70M in Co. Wicklow, the area may still be used for residential housing.

A forty-page prospectus provided to private investors outlined the use of the land as such, with the unconditional status of the sale also potentially clashing with the control of zoning and development by local officials.
