“The bar keeps getting set higher with each new season” – Actress Cathy Belton on ‘Red Rock' S03
11 Jan 2017 : Katie McNeice
The third season of home-grown drama ‘Red Rock’ returned to Irish screens last Monday, January 8th with a feature length episode coinciding with the launch of the new three-channel line-up from TV3 Group.

Patrick Begin has joined the cast of the IFTA-winning series this season, playing new character Jim Tierney, grandfather to Detective Rory Walsh (Chris Newman).

We caught up the actress behind leading character Patricia Hennesy on what Irish audiences can expect from her character in the quick-paced drama in the coming weeks.

Cathy Belton, Actress:
“It is a joyful and rewarding experience as an actor to be working on this new season of ‘Red Rock’. I continue to be challenged and nourished by the writing on the show and Patricia Hennessy is a joy to play. This year we see a softer more vulnerable side to this iron lady, as she finds an unlikely relationship in the most unexpected places, a relationship that brings out another side of her and could potentially make her the happiest we have ever seen her. But also we see a woman scrambling to keep her empire and family together, the lengths she will go to do that, and the sacrifices she will make personally for that to happen. There could be fatal consequences. It is testament to the makers, cast and crew of ‘Red Rock’ how the bar keeps getting set higher with each new season.”

‘Red Rock’ airs Mondays at 21:00 on TV3.
