Dominic Cooper (Preacher) and Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) announced the Nominees this morning live, with Boyle nominated for Best Costume Design (Florence Foster Jenkins) and McGarvey (Nocturnal Animals) up for Best Cinematography.

They join Irish talent Ruth Negga in the line-up of BAFTA Nominees, with the ‘Loving’ star nominated for the EE Rising Star Award last week.

The winners will be announced at the upcoming BAFTA Ceremony on Sunday, February 12th.

‘The Party’ is nominated for Best British Short Film, with its team composed of NI Director Andrea Harkin, screenwriter Conor MacNeill (No Offence) and producers Emmet Fleming (The Belly of the Whale) and Farah Abushwesha (Don’t Hang Up).

The work of cinematographer Robbie Ryan also continues to impress, with ‘I, Daniel Blake’ garnering five nominations including Best Film and Outstanding British Film, sharing the latter category with ‘American Honey’.

‘Notes on Blindness’ directed by Pete Middleton and James Spinney is up for both Best Documentary and Outstanding British Film, featuring Irish actress Simone Kirby (Jimmy’s Hall).

The Best Animated Film category sees ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ with Irish talent Art Parkinson (Game of Thrones) voicing lead character Kubo nominated alongside international titles ‘Moana’, ‘Finding Dory’ and ‘Zootropolis’.
