‘Elaine’ is TV3’s new daily chat show fronted by Elaine Crowley starting Monday 9th January at 3pm. The former ‘Midday’ presenter has said the new time slot for her show is not the only change between the previous programme which used to air on TV3 at an earlier time of 11:30am.
When asked what we can expect from the new show and how it will differ from ‘Midday’ Elaine told IFTN, “Some elements will be the same. There will be a smaller panel which will be talking about whatever stories may be of interest to them that day. So that could be anything from entertainment to news stories and we’ll also be taking suggestions from our viewers on what they want to talk about. As well as that I’ll have a celebrity interview every day, plus a hard hitting news story.
“There will be one on one and live interviews, mixed into topics we are discussing. A combination of entertainment, lifestyle and news stories. It won’t be as light as ‘Midday’ was but we’ll still be having the craics.”
On the first show Elaine will be speaking with ‘Emmerdale’ actor John Middleton, who plays former vicar Ashley in the soap. They will be speaking about the dementia story line involving his character and the incredible response and discourse of conversation received from having a special episode of ‘Emmerdale’ which aired before Christmas filmed through his characters perspective as a dementia suffer.
“He’s a very strong storyline in ‘Emmerdale’ at the moment about dementia and It’s a heartbreaking story in the soap which has been hugely popular. As well as that we have a panellist on the show today and her father died from dementia in his forties, which is very young,” said Elaine.
Elaine said that we can looked forward to a programme that remains a panellist chat show but will have extra elements added.
“I suppose we have a cross over on the show of trying to get to the stories behind the headlines. We want to talk to real people about their stories. We can all hear about issues and see awful things happening in the world nowadays in relation to celebrities, but we’re interested in how does this impact real life people who have a day to day experience with these things in their own life.”
The new programme ‘Elaine’ starts Monday 9th January and will be broadcast live on TV3 every weekday Monday to Friday at 3pm.
