The feature film starring ‘Love/Hate’ actor Killian Scott, John Bradley (Game of Thrones) and Peter O’Meara (Band of Brothers) enjoyed its premiere on HBO's Cinemax on Friday, January 6th.
The debut feature from writer/director team Rachael Moriarty & Peter Murphy was developed and funded by the Irish Film Board and debuted at the Galway Film Fleadh 2015 alongside strong Irish titles such as ‘My Name is Emily’ (Simon Fitzmaurice), ‘Song of the Sea’ (Tomm Moore) and ‘The Survivalist’ (Stephen Fingleton).
‘Traders’ released to Irish cinemas on March 11th 2016. It went on released on DVD and on demand in Ireland by Element Pictures in August of 2016, with an additional VOD release in the US the month previous through MPI Media and Dark Sky Films.
Stuart Switzer, Producer:
"[I am] delighted that the film is finding an audience abroad. Our international sales agents, MPI, have done a great job with the film and for HBO to acquire it for their Cinemax channel is particularly exciting for everyone involved.”
Peter O’Meara, Actor:
“If this was their first feature film, you would never have known it. They were both fantastic and you can tell they have a great working relationship. One body, two heads. They speak pretty much as one voice. The cast and crew they assembled were fantastic too though. I think this film really cements Killian (Scott) as a star and John Bradley – doing something very different to ‘Game of Thrones – was great too.”
