TV3’s new look three channel offering will launch on Monday 9th January, 2017 replacing UTV Ireland
be3’s programming schedule is to enhance the TV3 and 3e output and will keep its audience up to date with national and international news with two half hour news bulletins every weekday evening.
News across all three channels will be provided by ‘3 News Ireland’. This newly branded TV3 Group centralised news hub will provide individual news programmes for all three channels. ‘3 News Ireland’ launches on 9th January 2017.
be3 will be home to drama and chat and give viewers a second chance to see soaps and programmes such as ‘Midsomer Murders’, ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Benidorm’.
Speaking at the launch on Tuesday 6th December at The Cliff Townhouse on St. Stephen’s Green, Bill Malone, TV3 Group Director of Programming, said: “Today we give you a first look at the ambitious plans for the TV3 Group. Today’s story is not about a new channel or a new name for a channel. It represents a historic shift in Irish broadcasting. TV3 is now a three channel business and today we unveil three new-look and distinctive brands. Our commitment to Irish programming is clearly evident – we are now an Irish broadcaster of scale.”
TV3 will continue to be the group’s flagship channel, focusing on premium Irish content and acquired programming.
Starting this January, 3e will be home to the ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ franchise. 3e, as the entertainment channel for 15-44s, will also broadcast the ‘Xtra Factor’, ‘Get Me Out of Here Now’, ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’ along with other programmes such as ‘Graham Norton’ and ‘Jonathan Ross’ as well the UFC.
‘3Kids’, TV3 Group’s daily three hour children’s programming block also moves to be3 from Monday 9th January.
be3 will be available on channel 106 on Virgin Media, channel 116 on Sky, channel 106 on Saorview, channel 108 on Eir’s eVision and channel 106 on Vodafone.
TV3’s new look three channel offering will come into effect from Monday 9th January, 2017.
