The Oscar-winning Irish director of ‘The Secret Scripture’ and ‘In the Name of the Father’ filmed the short over a mere two days in London.
Sheridan co-wrote the script based on the real-life experience of Irish journalist Lise Hand during the 9/11 attack in New York with Oskar Slingerland.
The short film is produced by Rachel Lysaght (Hostage to the Devil, One Million Dubliners) of Underground Films and stars Selma Hayek (Sausage Party, Frida).
It is due to screen in LA for seven days and will be available online on Tuesday, November 8th.
Bruce Springsteen’s live performance of ‘This Land Is Your Land’ also features in the film, with Sheridan securing permission to use the track within the incredibly tight timeframe of the project.
Dublin-based technology We Are Seamless also collaborated with Sheridan in tandem on the project, which trialed new image-based decision-making software.
Tara van Zyl, CEO at We Are Seamless:
“Filming across several countries has become common practice, and a lack collaboration software for film industry professionals means creative teams are still relying on third party file sharing and email to share confidential production data.”
‘11th Hour’ will also screen in Irish cinemas from November 2016.
