Irish actress Amy Shiels (‘Cowboys & Angels’, ‘Citadel’, ‘Slaughter’) has been cast in David Lynch’s upcoming ‘Twin Peaks’ reboot, scheduled to premiere on Showtime in 2017.
As has been the norm with every element of the new series, no further details have been offered on Shiels character. The original ‘Twin Peaks’ garnered a cult following when it first premiered in the 90’s with TIME listing the show as one of the "Best TV Shows of All-TIME" in 2007.
The new limited series will be written by original creators Mark Frost and David Lynch and directed by Lynch. Shiels will star alongside such names as Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, David Duchovny, and Tom Sizemore.
Shiels will also soon be seen opposite James Nesbitt and Genevieve O’Reilly in ITV’s Northern Irish shot series ‘The Secret’; the four part series will commence on Friday, April 29th on ITV at 9pm.
