The Irish Film Board (IFB) has announced that the latest round of successful Frameworks projects have been selected.
Now in its 20th year this scheme was primarily established to develop new talent and skills in the field of animation and many Frameworks projects have garnered awards on both the national and international stage.
Recent awards bestowed on Frameworks projects includes ‘Somewhere Down the Line’ which won the Best Animation award in the International Competition at the Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival as well as the IFTA Award for Best Animated Short, ‘Coda’ which received the Best Animated Short Film award at SXSW and ‘Deadly’, which was the winner of the Best Animated Short Film award at the Irish Animation Awards.
The Frameworks scheme is funded by the IFB and RTÉ.
This year's successful projects are:
‘An Island’ to be written and directed by Rory Byrne and produced by Ciaran Deeney for And Maps and Plans
‘Bird and Whale’ to be written and directed by Carol Freeman and produced by Jonathan Clarke for Paper Panther Productions
‘Second to None’ to be written and directed by Vincent Gallagher and produced by Damien Farrell for Caboom
These three short films will premiere in 2016.
