RTÉ’s ‘The Voice of Ireland’ to return to screens in 2016
15 Jun 2015 : Seán Brosnan
‘The Voice of Ireland’ is produced by Screentime Shinawil for RTÉ One
RTÉ has announced that musical talent show ‘The Voice of Ireland’ will return to screens in 2016.

Produced by Larry Bass’ Screentime Shinawil, the show, presented by Kathryn Thomas and Eoghan McDermott, will now enter into its’ fifth season. This comes after reports that RTÉ were looking for alternative programming to replace the talent contest next year. ‘The Voice of Ireland’ had a series high of 673,000 this year, with the average ratings drawing in over 500,000 people.

Commenting on the announcement, Adrian Lynch, Channel Controller for RTÉ One, said: “The Voice of Ireland has been a hugely popular show for RTÉ One and the fourth series continued to attract really strong audiences.”

He continued: "While we considered some very strong proposals as part of the tender process, we believe The Voice of Ireland represents the best option for Sunday nights on RTÉ One in the New Year. We’re confident that it will continue to be appointment to view family entertainment. We look forward to working with Screentime ShinAwil on what we are sure will be another great series."

The fifth season of ‘The Voice of Ireland’ will air next year and will return to its’ Sunday evening 6.30pm slot.
