Telegael feature film production ‘Country Woman’ is to wrap this week, after six weeks shooting in the west of Ireland.
The film – directed by Danny Hiller - is based on real events in 20th century Ireland and is described as an “incredible story of injustice, prejudice, state bias, religious dogma, tragedy and the power of family and law.”
The lead cast includes Fiona Shaw, Alun Armstrong, Fionnuala Flaherty, Ruth McCabe, Nick Dunning and Gary Whelan and the drama has been shooting throughout Connemara and Galway city for the past six weeks with locations including Oughterard, Carraroe, Lettermore and Spiddal, as well as in Telegael’s film studios - Stiúideo Telegael in Tully, Galway. Picture and sound post production will take place at Telegael.
‘Country Woman’ is produced by Paul Cummins and Danny Hiller with Bernie Ní Shúilleabháin as Executive Producer.
Crew includes Seamus Deasy as DOP, Billy Keady on 2nd Camera, Ray Ball as Production Designer, Tony Aherne as 1st AD, Joan O’ Clery as Costume Designer and Ingrid Goodwin as Line Producer.
