IFTA Voting For Round One Closing on Monday, April 27

The IFTA Film and Drama Awards will take place on Sunday, May 24
Voting for Round One of the IFTA Film and Drama Awards will be closing on Monday, April 27, 2015.

Across 25 categories, Irish Academy Members and invited Jury are currently viewing all of the submitted material across Film, Drama, Feature Documentary, Short and Animation categories. Submissions have increased this year, with, for example, 20 Irish feature films submitted for consideration.

The Academy has 1000 Members of industry professionals across 14 Chapters of Discipline (Directors, Producers, Actors, Writers, Cinematographers, etc).

On average 550 Members register to vote each year and participate as Jury alongside international Jury and experts which in recent years has included – Peter Jackson, Sir Alan Parker, Neil Marshall, Christopher Hampton, Sean Bobbitt, Leo Davis, Jina Jay, Trisha Biggar, Conrad Pope and Steve Gaydos.

The independent process of the Awards is best international practice across submissions, viewing process, platforms and the voting process will be independently audited.

The successful nominees will be then announced with the IFTA Film and Drama Awards taking place on Sunday, May 24, 2015. TV3 are the official media partner of the IFTA Film and Drama Awards in 2015 and will deliver coverage of all the excitement, guests, nominees and winners at the ceremony in an exclusive one hour Awards Special.

With the Annual IFTA Awards this year being split into two categories for the first time, the IFTA Television Awards will take place on October 17. Submissions for the IFTA Television Awards will open in July.

Voting for Round One of the IFTA Film and Drama Awards will be closing on Monday, April 27, 2015. Nominations will be announced next week. For more information, go to www.ifta.ie.
