TV3 has formed a strategic distribution partnership with Sky Vision, the international distribution arm of Sky, Europe’s leading entertainment company.
This new partnership will see Sky Vision represent over 200 hours of TV3 content with a further 150 hours of new programming planned between now and 2017.
The new deal reinforces TV3’s strategic commitment to home produced programming and signals TV3’s growing stature as a producer on the world stage, building relationships with some of the biggest media brands and channels.
Sky Vision has more than doubled the number of hours in its catalogue since launching in 2012, and now represents nearly 4000 hours of quality programming, 80% of which is from third party producers. The company forms an integral part of Sky’s strategy to grow a broad, international content business spanning broadcasting, production and distribution but also to build up a broad portfolio of the best global content to put on screen for its customers.
Commenting on the new partnership, TV3 Group Director of Content, Jeff Ford said: ‘TV3 is delighted to be partnering with Sky Vision on what is a very important part of our business strategy; the international distribution of content. Sky is a major influential player in the industry so I’ve no doubt this partnership will pave the way for lucrative opportunities in new territories.’
Jane Millichip, Managing Director at Sky Vision, added: ‘Our ambition from day one has been to build and operate a business of quality programming and scale, representing the best producers in the business; both those that supply Sky channels and third-party companies. TV3 is renowned in the industry for its quality-led approach to generating exciting and commercially-relevant content. I’m thrilled we will now be representing them internationally.’
Sky Vision takes over from International distributor DRG, who previously represented TV3, with immediate effect.
