Mayo County Council Arts Service have announced the launch of Film Mayo which is being set up to promote Film and Television in County Mayo. The launch will take place on Monday 1st of December in Knockranny House Hotel, Westport, Co. Mayo.
The day will kick off with the inaugural Film Mayo Network event for Film and TV industry professionals from 2.30- 3.30pm (registration required).
The Networking event will be followed by a Q&A with special guests from 4pm to 5.30pm.
Special guests include:
- Director Pat O’ Connor who shot his film ‘Ballroom of Romance’ in Ballycroy Co. Mayo
- Scriptwriter/Director Anthony Foutz (‘Never Too Young To Die’). Originally from America, Anthony curreently lives in Mayo
- Producer Tim Palmer, whose previous credits include ‘Patrick’s Day’ and ‘Into the West’
- Director/Producer Mike Cockayne, originally from London but currently living in Mayo after working on the ‘Hardy Bucks’ series and film
After the Q&A session, the official Film Mayo launch which will take place at 6pm with guest of honour Pat O’Connor.
Cinew EU Project will also be launching its Creative Industries funding scheme which aims to support attendance at international film festivals and training events.
