TV3 has been flooded with requests from eager parents all hoping to be part of the station’s 90-minute ‘Christmas Toy Show’ live from the RDS on Friday 21st November.
Almost 9,000 requests have been submitted to TV3 in the three days since the application process opened. The vast majority of the submissions are for audience tickets with approximately 1,000 of the submissions being requests to take part as a ‘Toy Tester’ on the night.
Applications will close on Monday 20th October. Children, accompanied by a parent, must be available on Saturday 25th October in Dublin City Centre for auditions and on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st November for rehearsals and filming.
Commenting on the response, a spokesperson for TV3 said: We knew we’d see a lot of interest in ‘The Christmas Toy Show’ on TV3 but we’ve been blown away by just how many people want to be part of what will be a magical production. It’s really encouraging to get such a phenomenal response. The only downside is we can’t invite everyone to be part of the show. However, the plus side for those who don’t get tickets is, they can still experience ‘The Christmas Toy Show’ at the RDS from Saturday 22nd right up until 30th November.
The toy show will be the opening night of a nine-day event at the RDS running from 22nd – 30th November and will see families experience Christmas magic with fun, games, and activities for children as well as entertainment and music. The show will feature many popular toys that will be on sale in time for people shopping for Christmas. Admission is €6, with family tickets for five people at €25 and children two and under admitted free. Visits to Santa Claus are €15 (including children two and under) with accompanying adults free. This includes a gift from Santa Claus for each child.
More information on the toy show, including the name of the host, will be announced in the coming days.
’The Christmas Toy Show’ on TV3 will take place live from The RDS on Friday 21st November at 8pm.
