’11 Minutes’, an Irish/Polish co-production, is to begin its five day Dublin shoot this week. Backed by the Irish Film Board and Element Pictures, the film stars Irish actor Richard Dormer in the lead, who is best known for starring in ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Good Vibrations’ and can be seen in the upcoming Irish thriller ‘71’.
Helmed by Polish Director Jerzy Skolimowski (Essential Killing, Deep End, Moonlighting), the feature follows the same 11 minutes in the lives of a host of different characters from all walks of life. Some characters have big life changing decisions to make while others are just going through the motions of their every-day routine. What they all have in common is a sighting of an indefinable dark spot seen in the sky earlier that day and as their tragic outcome is sealed, the movie asks if they all deserved their fate.
Michelle Mullen is Production Manager for the project while Luke Johnston is 1st Assistant Director. The film stars an ensemble of Polish actors including Agata Buzek, Beata Tyszkiewicz and Mateusz Kościukiewicz, with Dormer being the only Irish actor.
The film is slated for a 2015 release in Ireland. 11 Minutes is produced by Ewa Piaskowska of Skopia Film and co-produced by Andrew Lowe and Ed Guiney of Element Pictures.
Element Pictures is also set to produce TV3 drama ‘Red Rock’, which was granted 800,000 euro from Round 21 of the the BAI’s Sound and Vision Scheme last week, more than any other project. Details of BAI’s Sound and Vision Scheme can be read here:
