Kylie Minogue Joins ‘San Andreas’
Australian singer-songwriter Kylie Minogue has joined the cast of ‘San Andreas’ opposite Dwayne Johnson. The New Line production is an earthquake thriller in which Johnson plats a helicopter pilot who must rescue his daughter. The movie is set in California but most of it is being shot in Australia.

Other cast members include Archie Panjabi, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario and young Irish actor Art Parkinson (‘GOT’). Kylie Mingue’s previous acting credits include ‘Moulin Rouge’, ‘Holy Motors’ and ‘Jack and Diane’.

Brad Peyton is directing the feature while Carey and Chad Hayes are writing the script, with a previous draft by Carlton Cuse. Beau Flynn will produce through FlynnPictureCo. alongside Village Roadshow.

Trailer for Comedy ‘The Interview’
The first trailer for new action-comedy ‘The Interview’ has been released. The film sees Seth Rogen and James Franco, who previously worked together on ‘Pineapple Express’ and ‘This is the End’, reunite, this time as stars of a celebrity tabloid show headed for a major interview with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-Un. They plan to assassinate him.

The Sony feature is directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Rogen, Goldberg and Dan Sterling wrote the story, with Sterling writing the screenplay, and Rogen, Goldberg and Weaver are the producers.

The film has a scheduled release in Ireland of 29 October 2014. See the trailer here:

International Trailer for ‘The Boxtrolls’
The international has been released for the upcoming stop-motion animated film, ‘the Boxtrolls’. The film follows a boy named Eggs who, after being raised by cave-dwelling Boxtrolls, finds it difficult to adjust to the civilised world. The film is produced by Laika, the studio behind ‘Coraline’.

Tracy Morgan, Toni Collette, Simon Pegg, Elle Fanning, Ben Kingsley and Isaac Hempsted-Wright provide the voiced for the film, which is adapted from the 2006 ‘Here Be Monsters!’ by Alan Snow. The film is co-directed by Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi with Irish graphics designer Annie Atkins also part of the production team.

Focus Features is releasing the film in Ireland on 12th September of this year. See the trailer here:
